Accessing BitLocker encrypted drive from USB Sata Dock

Recovering an encrypted hard drive where TPM chip is lost (laptop broken scenario)

Remove hard drive

Insert encrypted hard drive to USB Sata Dock or as a secondary drive in another Windows PC.

Take note of the BitLocker Key ID

Use Active Directory Recovery Password to “Find BitLocker Recovery Password”

Search for BitLocker Recovery Password by typing the first 8 characters of the Password Key ID.

Unlock the encrypted drive with the 48 digit key stored in Active Directory

(please note, this only works on Windows 10 (1511) or never, due to modern encryption method)
